Some time ago I read somewhere that 1080 are not recommended for mining as they are as fast as 1070 but more expensive. This is not really what I observed recently. Comparing two cards Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming and Aorus geforce gtx 1070ti its performence is comparable, as well as its current market price. Moreover mining with equihash algorithm right now (Feb 22, 2018) I get 440Sol/s on 1080 drawing 110W from the wall (power target set on 55%, no oc). On the other hand 1070Ti draws 125W, computing 450Sol/s (with powet target set to 65%). GPU Temp Power Speed GeForce GTX 1080 64 C 110 W 440 Sol/s GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 63 C 125 W 450 Sol/s Total - 235 W 890 Sol/s EWBF 0.3.4b PS. After setting 1070Ti 108% with 75C no significant improvement on Sols/h have been noticed, but effectivity drops to about 2Sols/W.
